Curriculum vitae

My (professional) life, in bullet points:

• Born in Belfeld, a village near Maastricht in the Netherlands.
• Studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands.
• PhD student of Arieh Iserles at the Numerical Analysis group of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge.
• Two-month stint at the International University Bremen in Germany
• Postdoc for 2½ years at the Mathematics Department of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh
• Postdoc for 1½ years at the Mathematics Section of La Trobe University in Melbourne.
• Moved to Leeds in October 2007 and stayed there until now as a lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics.
